Richard Haas

Richard Haas


Born in Spring Green, Wisconsin in 1936, Haas received a BA in Art and Art Education from the University of Wisconsin/Milwaukee and an MFA from the University of Minnesota. He is famous particularly for his murals and large-scale trompe l’oeil paintings. The list of exhibitions and commissions that have been awarded to Haas is seemingly endless. One-person exhibitions featuring Richard Haas’ work have been mounted at the Whitney Museum of American Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the American Institute of Architects Foundation, the Chrysler Museum, the St. Louis Art Museum, and the Aspen Art Museum to name a few.
